As usual we kicked of with Kerrang! Awards and MOJO Honours List; both at the Brewery in Chiswell Street. This year Artsfest in Canterbury really got it's wings, it's grown immeasurably since it was manned by two operators & no security. It's now a full blown closed area show with with 160 security. We were called in to help it comply to some exciting new requirements, which included: supply of all the arena fencing, site lighting & an extraordinary amount of emergency exit lights.

world super yacht awards a glittering triumph once more
It was great to be back at the Guildhall again to light the Awards ceremony. We also supplied the distribution for the entire building and provided lighting systems for the after show party in the old library here's the official footage & you can See more here

World super yachts
the event at the Guildhall was as ever a glamorous affair with the requisite multi- millionaire attendees.
the great hall sported a huge screen truss surround supplied by Astral and dozens of Led battens & fixtures the punch was provided by Robe 1200 spots driven by an Avolites Titan touch. entertainment by Bond.
The old library was decked out in even more LEDs and a further 8 coemar moving heads.

RSVP a great success
It was refreshing to be at RSVP this year after a 3 year sabbatical from exhibitions.in addition to running the stand we provided the showcase stage for the event organisers complete with lighting and projection driven from out new catalyst pro touring system.there will be pictures on line soon

Glastonbury ESTA's London Pleasure Gardens & African Music
what a full on couple of days. meetings about shangri-la at Glastonbury and before that meetings about London Pleasure gardens, on site and at City Airport. It's a massive project in the east end that starts this year into the olympic year and beyond, details to come later
Then on to Islington to spec the showcase stage for RSVP- So looks like we will be there in a couple weeks, straight in after the ESTA's on Friday
It looks like I'll at PLASA focus straight after that & then on a whistle stop tour with an African band, then finally I'll get to Athens for the remainder of Easter with my family.

Canterbury Shows Confirm
Canterbury Artsfest is on the board now. The summer conference is also confirmed and is looking like full production and a substantial video installation too As a spin off the event it seems like the Cathedral will come good as well with some architectural lighting and possibly some projection. Nice end to the week.

Highgate primary school was the unlikely venue for dinner followed by a star studded rock show and memorabilia auction. Lots included signed items From Lennon, Mohamed Ali, the ’66 England world cup team and more. My client scooped up the last Ltd edition Brian jones vox signature guitar for song, signed by Liam from oasis & many others too. We managed to raise over 14.5k toward the new arts facilities at the school.

We were back at the Guildhall on Wednesday to light the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. The Guildhall, after the new improvement is as ever a bit challenging but the new terraces look great.

wow, what a busy week, lots of ground work done on Shangri-La for Glastonbury this year, pics from last year here http://www.astraldesign.co.uk/gallery.htm plus enquiries about a show for Kiri Te Kanawa in May. A short notice booking for a Lunch event for Health magazine at Northern and Shell, Plus two outdoor canopy requests. Jameson's have booked an event at the Film museum prior to the Empire Awards 2 Days Later at the Grosvenor.
